Sweet & Savory Roasted Honeynut Squash
Honeynut squash looks just like a miniature butternut squash, except for that it has a deeper, sweeter, more flavorful taste! Roast, doctor up with butter, sugar & spice, and serve with any entree! Bon Appetit!
Ingredients:
2 Honeynut Squash, halved lengthwise and de-seeded
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º
Arrange squash halves cut-down up on a baking dish filled about 1/2 inch full of water. Cover with foil and bake for about 40 minutes or until soft to pierce with fork.
Remove squash and scoop out the seeds and stringy pieces, discard.
Dab the squash a bit to dry out any remaining water/moisture from the squash.
Place a good quality butter pat in each cavity.
Sprinkle with seasonings of your choice - a few of my favorite combinations are:
salt, pepper, maple syrup, and cinnamon.
Trader Joes "Cuban Style Citrusy Garlic Seasoning Blend" (found in the spice section - awesome on so many things!!!)
salt, pepper, and brown sugar
Enjoy!!!
