Pomegranate Christmas-Tini
Ingredients:
4 ounces good quality gin (or vodka if you prefer)
2 ounces pomegranate juice
2 ounces lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
1 ounce simple syrup (or more if you want it sweeter)
Optional: 1 dash bitters (I like blood orange, orange, or lemon bitters, but only one quick dash! It can be overwhelming!)
Garnish:
2 sprigs rosemary or thyme for decoration
pomegranate seeds or cranberries for decoration
Instructions
1. Add at least 10 pomegranate seeds in each martini glass and fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice
2. Add gin or vodka, pomegranate juice, lemon juice and simple syrup. Cap shaker and shake for 30 seconds
3. Strain cocktail between the two glasses and place a rosemary sprig into each glass
4. To make it a true Chrismastini, you can pour the martini into a (plastic) clear Christmas bulb and stick that onto the top of the martini glass. Garnish with pomegranate seeds or cranberries and stick the sprig of herb out the top of the ornament. The patron will then pour their own martini into the glass. You can even put crushed ice in the glass to keep the martini cold!
