Retro Cocktail ~ Eastside Martini

The Eastside Martini is what happens when a classic gin cocktail slips into something a little greener, cooler, and far more flirtatious. Bright lime, crisp cucumber, and fresh mint give this cocktail a garden-party elegance — like a martini that spent the weekend at a chic boutique hotel spa.

Ingredients:
2 ounces gin (Hendrick’s is ideal) – vodka can easily be substituted if you don’t care for gin! I recommend citron!
1 – 1 ½ ounces fresh lime juice
½ ounces simple syrup (or to taste)
¼ cup cucumber slices
8-10 fresh mint leaves
Ice
Instructions:
In a cocktail shaker, gently muddle:
cucumber
mint
simple syrup
Add:
gin
lime juice
ice
Shake vigorously until frosty cold.
Double strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass.
Garnish with:
thin cucumber ribbon
mint sprig
lime twist
Cool, crisp, and impossibly refreshing — it’s basically a martini with excellent taste in summer vacations.
