Patriotic 4th of July Trifle

Ingredients:

5 cups strawberries, sliced into flat pieces

4 cups blueberries

Juice of 1 tangerine

Canned Whipped Cream (or homemade if you prefer)

Pound Cake or Angel Food Cake

3 boxes instant vanilla Jell-O brand pudding, prepared

6-7 milk for Jell-O (per directions)

3 T. vanilla extract

Directions:

o Clean berries and toss with the juice of 1-2 tangerines, set aside.

o Make pudding according to directions on boxes.  I used 3 boxes of pudding.  Add 3 tablespoons of vanilla extract. Chill if possible.

o When ready to layer your trifle, use the extra cup of milk to loosen pudding, for

spread ability, if necessary.

o   Layer in order (from bottom of trifle bowl  top):

o   Pudding layer, covering the bottom of the bowl

o   Pound cake slices, covering the pudding layer

o   Whipped cream layer (don’t get on side of bowl for strawberry, aesthetic

purposes)

o   Strawberries flat and pretty against side and then layered throughout the middle

o   Pudding layer, covering the bottom of the bowl

o   Pound cake slices, covering the pudding layer

o   Whipped cream layer (don’t get on side of bowl for strawberry, aesthetic

purposes)

o   Blueberries covering whipped cream in a nice sized layer

o   Repeat until finished, but top with decorative whipped cream and a few berries

for decoration.

o   Chill completely & enjoy!
