 Childhood Favorite ~ Taco Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 1 can Pillsbury thin-crust pizza dough

  • 1 1/2 c. refried beans

  • ½ c. sour cream

  • 1 T. Taco Bell taco seasoning

  • 3/4 lb ground beef

  • 2 c. shredded cheddar

  • 2 T. red onion ; minced

  • 2 c. shredded lettuce

  • 3/4 c. diced tomato

  • Taco flavored Doritos ; crushed

  • Sour cream for topping, optional

  • Taco Bell hot taco sauce

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 400º.

  • Unroll dough and press into a cookie sheet. Bake the dough 5-7 minutes until “very” lightly browned.

  • In the meantime mix together the refried beans and the sour cream.

  • Brown the ground beef, drain and add in the 2-3 tablespoons or 1 packet of taco seasoning and a little water and cook over low heat a few minutes.

  • Top the pre-baked crust with a layer of the bean and sour cream mixture, a layer of all the ground beef, then the onions, then the cheddar cheese.

  • Bake another 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust is completely cooked.

  • Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes.

  • Top with finely chopped lettuce, tomatoes, and crushed taco Doritos, sour cream, and top with your favorite taco sauce (to your liking… I LOVE Taco Bell hot sauce the best!)

  • Enjoy!
